MAYEN MA
VP OF CURRENT UNSCRIPTED
Mayen Ma is vice president of current, unscripted, at Thinkfactory Media, working across the company’s vast unscripted programming slate – encompassing a range of genres – and overseeing all aspects of production.
Mayen has been a pivotal Thinkfactory team member for nearly 10 years, helping grow its unscripted production department and producing some of the company’s biggest hits, including Mama June: From Not to Hot, which launched in 2017 as WE tv’s highest-rated series debut in network history, delivering 2.3 million overnight viewers.
In addition, Mayen is one of the driving forces behind Thinkfactory’s wildly popular Marriage Boot Camp franchise, which has spawned multiple spinoffs. She also conceived the idea for AMC’s 4th and Loud – chronicling rock and roll legends Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley’s journey to launch an Arena Football franchise. Her other major Thinkfactory credits include WE tv’s Million Dollar Matchmaker, Weather Channel’s Dead of Winter: The Donner Party and A&E’s Gene Simmons Family Jewels. She was also executive producer on A&E’s emotional two-hour special Dog & Beth: Fight of Their Lives.
Prior to Thinkfactory, Mayen was in development at Fuse TV, where she helped create several youth-driven series that broke broadcast norms and delivered historic ratings, including The Whitest Kids You Know, Pants Off/Dance Off and Rad Girls. Her other credits include Celebrity Apprentice and Giuliana & Bill.
Mayen began her career in satellite news working for clients such as MSNBC, CNBC, Al Jazeera, ESPN and PBS.
